Kansas City Artists Coalition Proposals for Exhibitions & the International Residency 2014

Kansas City Artists Coalition (KCAC) produces exhibitions in each of the three galleries and programs special events in the Project Room.
The Mallin Gallery is a loft type gallery with hardwood floors, track lighting and storefront windows with blinds. • 1420 square feet • 12 feet – ceiling height • 109 feet – linear hanging space • Storefront windows w/blinds • Hardwood floors • Suspended lighting – 9½ feet from the floor in three banks, which run the length of the gallery East to West.
The Jacqueline B. Charno Gallery is immediately accessible through the Mallin Gallery. • 690 square feet • 12 feet – ceiling height • 88 feet – linear hanging space • Hardwood floors • Suspended lighting – 9½ feet from the floor in three banks, which run the length of the gallery East to West.
The Underground Gallery is KCAC’s exclusive member’s only gallery. It is accessible through the Mallin Gallery. • 140 feet – linear hanging space • 102 inches – ceiling height • Lighting is attached to beams in the ceiling • Cement floors • 80 x 36 inches – door entry size.
Project Room KCAC’s other space, adjoining the Residency. • 560 square feet • 12 feet – ceiling height • 54 feet – linear hanging space • Hardwood floors • 80 x 48 inches – door entry size • Suspended lighting – 9½ feet from the floor in two banks, which run the length of the gallery North to South. • A/V available Artists may be selected for solo, two-person or group exhibits.
Artists will be notified after the first of the year. All media is accepted. Work must have been completed in the past two years. Open to all artists, with a special interest in artists from the Plains/Midwest. Women and artists of color are encouraged to apply.
To be considered, please submit: • Visual documentation (10-20 digital images and url) • Artist statement, • CV or resume, • Exhibition proposal, • Support materials (PDFs of reviews, catalogs, etc.)
Optional: • Inventory sheet (PDf list of artworks submitted with thumbnail images including information about the media, size, date of completion, and price).
KCAC carries Fine Art Insurance, however, artists must insure their work to and from the gallery. KCAC takes a commission on works sold. Please let KCAC know about any scheduling conflicts you might have in your proposal. The Underground is only available to KCAC members. Complete proposals are due October 15 of every year.
