Station Description
Heading Northwest from Denver Union Station, Arvada Ridge is the sixth stop on the Gold Rail Line. This station is located west of Kipling Street on the north side of the existing freight tracks. The travel time is 23 minutes from Denver Union Station. Parking on opening day will be 150 spaces.
Site Description
Potential art locations at this station include an underpass, a long wall, or an open area for a 3D piece. There is electricity in the underpass that can be utilized. When applying, please review the potential artwork locations and submit images that match the type of artwork we are looking for. Example: If the location is a wall, don’t submit images of 3D artwork.
Artwork Guidelines
1. The movement, safety and security of pedestrians is a priority.
2. The artwork will be outside and exposed to the elements. It must be able to withstand the constantly changing weather conditions of Colorado which include wide fluctuations in temperature and intense sunlight.
3. Materials used must be durable and require little or no maintenance.
4. Prior approval for use of electricity is needed.
5. Artwork proposed for any location by the tracks must not violate any of the clearance and safety regulations concerning the overhead electrical wires (that power the trains) or impede with any train operations.
Selection
There will be two phases of the selection process. All artists can apply prior to the January 23, 2015 deadline. A small group of finalists will be selected by the Eagle Project Art Committee, made up of artists, arts professionals, and community members. The finalists will be selected based on their application materials. They will then make a site visit and prepare a proposal. The finalists will also be interviewed by the committee.
Application Process and Materials:
Each application must include:
· Eight (8) digital images of relevant work. Accompanying image annotation must list media, size, title, date and a brief description of the artwork if necessary.
· Current resume
· Two professional references

January 23, 2015 Call closes at midnight
February 9, 2015 Finalist artists notified and asked to prepare proposals
March 26-27, 2015 Committee interviews finalists/view proposals
March 30, 2015 Final artist notified of selection
