With the aim of recognizing, stimulating, and disseminating artistic creation on the US-Mexico border, the El Paso Museum of Art (EPMA) and the Museo de Arte de Ciudad Juárez (MACJ) announce the IV Bienial Ciudad Juárez-El Paso Biennial 2015 to be presented at the El Paso Museum of Art and the Museo de Arte de Ciudad Juárez in 2015-16. Exhibition Prize: One artist will be selected for a solo exhibition to be held at the El Paso Museum of Art. Two Acquisition Prizes: The El Paso Museum of Art will purchase one work each by an American and Mexican artist. Two SOMA Residencies: One for a Mexican artist and one for an American artist, selected and awarded by SOMA in Mexico City (transportation to Mexico City would be the responsibility of the artist) JURORS: Eduardo Díaz, Director Smithsonian Latino Center, Washington, DC Santiago Espinosa de los Monteros, Renowned curator, museographer, and art critic Mexico City The 4th International Border Art Biennial is the fourth collaborative exhibition between the two museums that highlights art and artists from the US-Mexico border. This year we invite artists to submit work on any theme. Artists must live and work within 200 miles of the boundary between the United States and Mexico. Each museum will exhibit one of two selected artworks by each artist. All works included will be reproduced in the accompanying exhibition catalog. FUNDAMENTALS Entries can be submitted by artists of Mexican and American nationality, and those from other countries who have lived in these regions of Mexico or the United States for the last two years after residency status. Artists must live and work within 200 miles of the boundary between the United States and Mexico.
