The new call for entries for the 2014 Film Prize for
International Cooperation between young Germany and Eastern Europe
filmmakers is open. Applications can be submitted until October 31,
2013.
The Robert Bosch Stiftung issues
three Film Prizes for International Cooperation between young German and
Eastern European filmmakers, focusing especially on the Caucasus and
the Black Sea Region. The prize, worth up to 70,000 euros for each
selected project, is awarded in the categories animation, documentary,
and short fiction film. Young filmmakers in the fields of production,
directing, camera, and screenwriting are given an opportunity to explore
the methods and creative styles of their partner country.
Eastern Europe prides itself on a significant
cinematographic tradition, which evolves with stunning creativity under
often difficult conditions. The Robert Bosch Stiftung promotes joint
film productions to encourage lasting exchange and development of
European cinema.
Partners of the Film Prize Germany/Eastern Europe are
the goEast Film Festival in Wiesbaden, which hosts the award ceremony,
and TV channel ARTE featuring at least one of the completed films in its
program.
Eligible are joint production teams of young filmmakers
from an Eastern European country (with exception of Turkey and Greece)
and Germany. The young filmmakers must have completed their 18th
year. Applications must be made by teams, not individuals. The film
should be produced in Germany as well as the partner country, stressing
in particular the aspect of intercultural exchange.
