paid by host: The New Gallery is an non-profit artist-run centre and observes CARFAC (Canadian Artists' Representation) payment schedules, offering an artist fee of $1739 CAD for a solo show. Additionally, we provide limited financial resources to aid artists in managing shipping and travel costs.


Our Main Space is currently located at 212, 100 7 Ave SW in the Art Central building in downtown Calgary. The gallery contains approximately 900 sq ft of exhibition space. A detailed floor plan and submission requirements can be found on our website: http://thenewgallery.org/submit/mainspace. Shows are five weeks in duration. Main Space programming comprises exhibitions by artists, collaborators, curators, and other cultural producers from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We work closely with artists to create critically-relevant shows that advance contemporary art in our local and national communities. Please note that The New Gallery accepts proposals for solo shows, but the Programming Committee may also consider individual artists for inclusion in a curated group project.
