BAU/CAMARGO RESIDENCY – CASSIS, FRANCE
BAU Institute has formed a partnership with the Camargo Foundation to offer a new summer residency in Cassis, France. The BAU/Camargo residency provides Fellowships at no cost to visual artists, writers and other creative professionals, who demonstrate a serious commitment to their craft and a desire to work independently within an international community.2014 DATES
One month residency: June 16 – July 15.Two week residencies: June 16–30, or July 1–15.
We accept applications on-line January 27 – March 9.
Final applications are due March 9, 2014.
Notification of the admission committee decision will be in mid-March.
Upon acceptance a refundable security deposit of $250.00 is due.
ELIGIBILITY

The Fellowship provides artists with live-work apartments at no cost. The Camargo foundation staff is in residence to provide information and support for transportation, reservations, translation and regional information. A BAU Institute Director will be in residence at all times.The campus is located directly on the Mediterranean with breathtaking views of the harbor and Cap Canaille, one of the highest maritime cliffs in Europe. The buildings and grounds contain thirteen apartments, a reference library, a music-conference room, gardens, a Chinese Terrace, and an outdoor Greek Theater, all of which are available for use by the residents. The apartments are fully furnished with equipped kitchens. Linens and towels are provided. A washer and dryer are available for personal laundry. There are no telephones in the apartments, but there is WiFi through-out most of the campus. There is on-site parking.
The language of the residency is English. There is no French language requirement for a Camargo Fellowship. Transportation and meals are the responsibilty of the residents. There is abundant food shopping in nearby markets. No children or pets are allowed. Overnight guests are permitted when requested at the time of the application. The guest fee is $50.00 per night, 3 nights maximum. There are also several hotels in Cassis where visitors can stay.
The Foundation is a five-minute walk from the village of Cassis and approximately 30 minutes by train, bus, or car from Marseille and Aix-en-Provence. The train station in Cassis is a five minute taxi ride to the campus.

how the specific nature of this residency with benefit your work. - Documentation of your work: Depending on your practice, you may submit either images, audio/video files, or text based files.
VISUAL ARTS
If your mediium is painting, sculpture, installation, site-specific, and/or drawing, please submit jpeg images. Seven (7) JPEG images, at 72 DPI resolution, maximum file size for each image submitted: 1 MB. Images must be numbered as in the image list.(See item no.3) Important: we can only accept jpegs. Please do NOT submit: Powerpoint presentations, PDF, TIFF, Gif or PSD files.
VIDEO/AUDIO
Links to three video or audio excerpts. Please make sure to mark which 3-minutes of each piece you would like the jury to review. The jury will be required to watch/hear 3 minutes for each; it is at their discretion whether they will see/hear more. We review video or audio documentation ONLY for candidates whose work is time-based, interactive, web-based, kinetic, film, video, theatre, sound, music, spoken word, and performance.LITERARY ARTS
If you work with words, please submit either a pdf or word doc of up to three (3) excerpts of recent work. Each excerpt should not exceed 10 pages and cannot be from the same work. Upload the three excerpts individually; either PDF or word document files.- Work sample list:

Title, year, size, medium and optional brief synopsis for each of seven (7) jpegs. - Performance:
Choreographer, performer(s), length of original piece, year and brief synopsis. - Film:
